The villages of the city (Al-Baha or Baljurashi) are characterised by their abundance of heritage villages and palm groves, and are home to numerous historical sites alongside the traditional markets and handicrafts for which the region is renowned. The area is dotted with archaeological sites, forts, buildings and various heritage villages, as well as parks and dense forests, and is rich in a diversity of dialects, arts, agricultural and livestock products, and wild plants.
